Who You'll Work With

You’ll be based in our Zurich office where you’ll be an integral part of the European people leadership team. You’ll be responsible for people related matters across staffing, professional development, talent attraction and development, and coordinating closely with the other function leaders in the office.
You'll work closely with the office manager, the office people leadership and the regional people function leaders to shape the people agenda and deliver exceptional people processes for more than 500 talented colleagues across Switzerland.
You’ll also work directly with critical practices and client service teams to ensure effective deployment, treatment and development of our talent pools while also coordinate with broader professional development leadership team across Europe and globally on critical initiatives.

What You'll Do

As a Director of People you’ll shape and implement the strategy of the people agenda and lead the complex efforts to design and deploy distinctive processes related to HR, recruiting, training, professional development, feedback and evaluation for colleagues, and develop a healthy pipeline of talent.
Other responsibilities:
  • set the people team’s overall direction, oversee day-to-day operations, coach, evaluate performance, and inspire excellence.
  • exercise your leadership across the existing people functions and across countries in the complex and collaborate with consultant-led initiatives as well as driving priorities by yourself.
  • coordinate with other departments when necessary (e.g. finance, legal, etc.) to ensure effective delivery of people priorities.
  • counsel senior colleagues across the office - associate partners, partners - on people issues, risk issues, and individual development concerns.
  • support the delivery of local people events as needed and special priority people initiatives.
  • maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applying this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to office people leadership.
  • oversee the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, leave and mobility; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety.
  • ensure system in place to monitor and support the apprenticeship, development and deployment of senior colleagues and partners. ensure connectivity with learning goals and objectives and oversee core learning including office-based learning.
  • develop and monitor relevant budget, ensuring that firm resources are deployed appropriately.
  • play an instrumental part in the recruiting and on-boarding of new senior colleagues, while taking bold steps to strengthen apprenticeship and experience of our colleagues, guiding proper development and support for our next generation of leaders.
  • provide strategic leadership to recruiting for Switzerland, ensure the translation of recruiting strategies into actionable plans and monitor implementation, uplifting the quality of consultants hired into the firm at all times.
  • cultivate top talent and manage hiring offers for most senior candidates.
  • coordinate agreements and relationships with key external providers and partners (e.g., head-hunters, merit colleges) as well as with top schools in Switzerland.
  • work with cell communication leaders to shape and lead specific initiatives to improve employer branding and communication of the firm’s value proposition to top talent.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, preferably in a field related to business, human resources, organizational behavior, or related fields
  • 8+ years of professional experience of which several should be in HR, on talent / professional development topics, experience with team leadership
  • Ability to quickly grasp range of complex business issues
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Stature and professional experience necessary to interact as thought partner with senior colleagues
  • Effective interpersonal communication, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Superior leadership and project management skills
  • Absolute attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and simultaneously process multiple small tasks while still being mindful of the big picture
  • Passion in people and organizational topics, with a natural curiosity to learn
  • Good judgement, superb integrity, maturity, and fairness in dealing with people
  • Sensitivity to/discretion in handling confidential information
