We are currently hiring a Senior Inspection and Repair Technician at our Barsbüttel, Germany location!

The EU Senior Inspection and Repair Technician is a member of a knowledgeable team responsible for inspection and customer RC repairs for the EU business. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, fixing issues and logging conditions, and customer information regarding these repairs and communicating any other appropriate information. This includes, but is not limited to identification of the customer, product, value, damage, or performance notes and warranty status in whatever form is needed. On occasion this may also include direct interaction with customers to clarify information regarding the repair.

In addition, the EU Senior Inspection and Repair Technician participates in Inventory control, Quality Control projects, inspections, rework, and refurb’s or modifies proprietary electronics as needed. The EU Senior Inspection and Repair Technician must be able to handle these situations in a calm, professional, and expedient manner. Organization, technical excellence, and prioritization are imperative. Analysis and communication of observations must be clear and concise. Each EU Senior Inspection and Repair Technician must make sound decisions regarding the condition of product and customer satisfaction in conjunction with Horizon’s Mission, and Values.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position will work at the German office and is not a work from home position.
  • Primary liaison between the US and EU Service Teams
  • The EU Senior Inspection and Repair Technician’s responsibility is to take the lead and drive performance of the Service area. This includes performance of the team members ensuring quality repairs on various Horizon product lines. In addition, fast, and accurate support on customer emails and phone calls.
  • In depth knowledge of Horizon’s product lines or an RC enthusiast is preferred required along with the ability to use the products in real world applications.
  • In addition, duties may include assisting with the responsibilities of other Service departments including Product Support, and Customer Service.
  • Technical ability and ongoing skills acquisition are paramount. Adaptability and multitasking are also keys to success.
  • To be successful in this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential function according to established guidelines.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to organize/set work priorities for themselves as well as the team.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills for EU and US with ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the organization, and customers.
  • The EU Senior Inspection and Repair Technician must be able to provide the Service Center Manager (USA) with performance assessments of service center team members during yearly performance review evaluations.
  • Provide monthly reporting to the Service Center Manager on all KPI’s for the department
  • The employee must also adhere to Horizon Hobby's Mission and Operating Values.
  • Work schedule may vary and include additional hours resulting in COMP time as needed.
  • Standard job schedule is 0800 – 1700 Monday through Friday.

Education and/or Experience

  • 2-3 years’ experience in managing a team and writing and delivering performance assessments.
  • 2+ years’ experience in KPI reporting
  • Preferably fluent in both English and German languages
  • Associate degree or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school preferred.
  • Minimum 6-month experience in similar role helpful.
  • Ability to read & interpret documents in German and English such as safety rules, schematics, Product Manuals, and maintenance instructions.
  • Must have previous experience and the ability to use test equipment such as, digital voltmeter, and various programmers for updating and repairing various products.
  • Must have the ability to use a PC and various programs such as Sales Force, Oracle, Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and specific programs for use on repair products.
  • Excellent soldering skills needed for small, delicate, surface mount components.
  • Ability to work safely in an area including electronic equipment and soldering equipment.
  • Must learn, understand, and always practice Lithium Battery safety.
  • Previous experience in Salesforce and/or Oracle strongly preferred.
