Calling all enthusiastic, responsible students looking for casual work during the school holidays!

Code Camp is looking for senior high school students (Year 11 & 12) who are interested in gaining experience in the education sector joining our team as a Teaching Assistant. Your role will be to work closely with the Head Teacher, to deliver our high-quality Creative Tech programs to primary aged children during school holidays.

Who are we? Code Camp is Australia’s leading specialist school holiday provider! We’ve taught over 90,000 kids to code and get creative with technology in the past 9 years, and employ 1000 casual staff to help us. Our staff work hard and love the collaborative effort of creating unique and engaging learning experiences for kids. We are looking for fun and energetic casual staff to join the team.

Is this you?

  • Love engaging with younger kids aged 5-12 as a peer mentor
  • Fun energetic personality
  • Have an interest in Coding, IT, Film, Animation, Drama, Engineering, Game Design, Computer Science, Education or a similar related field
  • A creative with interest in social media, video editing, music or art
  • A lifelong learner with a willingness to learn creative technology skills and content (ranging from Coding to Stop Motion Animation and more!)
  • Passionate about supporting others, building their knowledge and confidence
  • Trustworthy, punctual and reliable
  • Available for work during the school holidays, a minimum of 3 consecutive days (our camps run for 2-3 days at each venue)

Required Skills:

Candidates should have some or all of the following qualities

  • Tech savvy/ICT skills
  • For Teaching Assistants- ability to familiarise themselves with lesson content and assist children with individual issues throughout class with guidance from the Head Teacher, including utlilising problem solving skills and communicating with our IT support team where needed
  • Enjoy working with kids and have a vibrant and enthusiastic can do attitude
  • Mature outlook and common sense
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Be able to take initiative
  • Fluent conversational English
  • Ability to encourage positive behaviour in children
  • Capacity to identify and take action to manage risk and ensure active supervision of children inside and outside the classroom

What programs will you help deliver?

Our programs include Coding, DJ, Drone, Roblox legends, Stop Motion Animation & YouTube creator classes for kids aged 5-13 yrs. Our Head Teachers and Teaching Assistants can choose to focus on delivering one program (for example Coding) or as many as they are happy to learn and deliver! All lesson plans are provided as well as paid staff training for the right candidates. Some prior experience with Javascript or HTML would be beneficial for our higher level coding classes but our entry level course (Spark) uses drag and drop coding on our own platform code camp world.
